Tell Congress to support vital programs that impact our community

As members of Congress return from the August Congressional Recess, we have an important opportunity to fight for policies and programs that are important to people with disabilities and their families. Two critical programs—Medicaid home and community-based services (HCBS) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)—are in desperate need of updates to ensure people with disabilities can live independently and with dignity.

Medicaid HCBS is a lifeline for millions, allowing people with disabilities to live in their own homes and communities rather than in institutions. But long waitlists and inadequate funding mean that many are left without the help they need.

SSI provides vital financial support to people with disabilities, ensuring they can afford basic needs, like food and housing. But outdated rules make it hard for people to save money, plan for emergencies, and get out of poverty.
