International Angelman Day 2025: Round-Up

This year, FAST along with our global community, celebrated International Angelman Day in such creative ways around the world!

Across the globe, infrastructures were lit up in blue, classrooms were learning about Angelman syndrome, and AS families gathered together. Caregivers educated other organizations, and other efforts were made to promote the purpose of the day.

Below are just some highlights, thank you to EVERYONE who participated!

AS parents in action:

  • AS mom: Joined the Ultragenyx team to share her story and co-wrote a blog with their Chief Medical Officer and Executive VP

  • AS mom: Guest lectured for a master’s level speech-language pathology students on what it means to raise a child with AS- the challenges in obtaining a diagnosis, barriers to accessing healthcare, and even sharing about the current pipeline for treatments!

  • AS parents: Lit up the city of brotherly love in BLUE! The PECO building’s banner will read: “It’s International Angelman Day! Spreading awareness! cureangelman.org”

  • AS mom: Had a mission to get all New Zealanders with AS, signed up to the Global Angelman Registry - inspired by FAST's Search & Rescue campaign.
