How Harper’s Hope Golf Tournament Has Raised Over $350,000 for Angelman Syndrome Research

The Harper’s Hope Annual Golf Outing has become a cornerstone of community fundraising for Angelman syndrome research. Now in its 12th year, this family-led tradition has grown from raising $5,000 in its first year to surpassing $350,000 in total contributions to the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST).

This summer alone, supporters came together in Louisa, Kentucky to raise $23,200, followed by another $27,000 at the Owensboro event in August. These incredible results show how grassroots fundraisers fuel progress toward a cure.

Why Harper’s Hope Matters for Angelman Syndrome Research

When Harper was diagnosed with Angelman syndrome at just 11 months old, her family refused to stand still. Instead, they created Harper’s Hope and launched the first golf tournament to rally their community.

Events like this aren’t just about tee times or scorecards, they are lifelines. Every dollar raised translates into critical research funding, clinical trials, and scientific breakthroughs that bring the Angelman community closer to a cure. By turning passion into action, the Harper’s Hope team has proven the extraordinary power of community-driven fundraising.

Celebrating the Harper’s Hope Family and Their Impact

The success of Harper’s Hope is a direct result of the love and commitment of Harper’s family, along with the incredible network of volunteers, sponsors, and players who return year after year. FAST is deeply grateful to the Harper’s Hope family for turning their journey into a movement that not only honors Harper, but also inspires hope for every family living with Angelman syndrome.

As Harper’s family says: “Unicorns don’t exist, but the cure for Angelman syndrome does.”

Take Action: Turning Passion Into Progress

Harper’s Hope offers a powerful message: find something you are passionate about, rally your community, and take action. Whether it’s a golf tournament, a local fundraiser, or another creative idea, grassroots events are vital to sustaining momentum toward a cure.

On behalf of FAST and the entire Angelman community, thank you to Harper’s family and the Harper’s Hope team for 12 incredible years of partnership and progress. Together, we will continue to #dreambig.
