CAN Spotlight: Maddie’s Mission

Maddie's Mission 2nd Annual Block Party was a family-focused event that featured live music, local smoked meats, ice cream, and carnival activities. This event gave Maddie's Mission Foundation supporters the opportunity to support children living with different needs. Maddie's Mission's impact extends far beyond the Kansas City metro with attendees from several Midwest cities. The event showcases organizations instrumental in the development of children with different needs including FAST, ASF, Maddie’s local therapeutic preschool and therapy center, and Children's Mercy Hospital Angelman Syndrome Clinic. Patrick and Laura were honored to have eight Angelman syndrome families in attendance.

The Sargents are proud of the influence Maddie's Mission Foundation has on children and families impacted by Angelman syndrome and other rare diseases. They were humbled by the growth over two years and the impact Maddie's Mission has on our community for access to healthcare and therapy. They look forward to growing their reach while supporting a therapeutic to improve the lives of children living with Angelman syndrome.

Together with their supporters, the event raised $211,088 with partial proceeds going to FAST to fund potential therapeutics.
