Guy Shapira

Guy Shapira is a Partner & Senior Portfolio Manager at AS Birch Grove, an alternative credit asset management firm. Mr. Shapira leads the Opportunistic Credit across the firm and manages the multi-strategy credit hedge fund. Mr. Shapira joined Birch Grove at its inception in 2013 and led the firm’s investments in Healthcare, Technology and Business Services. ​

Previously, Mr. Shapira was a Principal at Trevi Health Capital, a healthcare-focused investment management firm. He helped establish and manage the Special Situations and Long/Short Equity fund and had various responsibilities investing and monitoring private equity healthcare investments. In this capacity, Guy was involved with MedAvante, a clinical data service organization in the Central Nervous System and behavioral health assessment market.

Prior to that, Mr. Shapira was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs International in London. Mr. Shapira received a BSc. in Biotechnology, First Class honors, from University College London where he focused on bioinformatics and gene networks conducting his research at the Oncology department of the Royal Free Hospital in London. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Guy and his wife live in New York and have three children. His daughter has the rare genotype of Angelman syndrome known as mosaic.
