Imogen was born in 2021. When she was still not rolling over at nine months, her pediatrician referred her to neurology. This began a years-long journey to diagnosis.
Imogen’s neurologist said she was likely just delayed. When she continued to fall further behind her peers, the family pushed for a referral to genetics. The tests came back normal, and Imogen was referred to a developmental pediatrician.
This doctor suggested that because of her global delays, exceptionally happy demeanor, and love of water, Imogen may have Angelman Syndrome. This was the first the family had heard of it.
After further testing, Imogen was diagnosed with mutation AS just before her third birthday. Despite her challenges, Imogen is the most determined, magical little girl. She inspires Beth to do as much as she can to help secure a brighter future for Immy and others like her.
