Senior Director of Strategic Communications

Amy Schamp is the architect behind FAST’s communication strategy, where she is designing a framework that connects brand, audiences, and mission in service of one bold goal: a cure for Angelman syndrome. As the inaugural communications lead, she guides the development of strategic messaging, digital engagement, and content cohesion across the organization.

With more than two decades of experience in digital marketing and communications for mission-driven organizations, Amy brings a strategic lens to storytelling—and a deep belief in the power of clarity to build trust. At FAST, her work centers on elevating the organization’s voice across advocacy, research, and fundraising, while translating complex science into accessible narratives that resonate across audiences.

Before joining FAST, Amy spent 14 years at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, where she led initiatives that sharpened brand strategy, scaled digital engagement, and unified communications across a wide and influential portfolio of work.

Amy holds an MA in Corporate and Public Communication and a BS in Marketing from Seton Hall University, along with digital marketing certificates from Yale and UC Irvine.

A message from Amy

I believe great communications act like an invisible thread—connecting every message to the meaning that drives it. At FAST, that thread is the mission to cure Angelman syndrome. I’m here to make sure every message honors the people behind it: the families, researchers, and supporters moving this mission forward every day.

Fun facts

  1. Amy can identify the make of a car by the sound of its engine—it’s both a party trick and lifelong obsession.

  2. She always has a memoir, documentary, or true crime podcast in the queue.

  3. Her first job was at age 12, making raviolis and homemade pasta at a local Italian restaurant (and yes, her pasta standards remain sky-high).
