Expanding the Pre-Clinical Research Landscape for Angelman Syndrome

Led by Dr Allyson Berent, along with Dr. Ed Weeber and Dr Kelly Knee, the FAST Translational Research team has been hard at work to drive the momentum behind groundbreaking research for Angelman syndrome. Their leadership—and your unwavering support of the Angelman community—are making it possible to make our efforts even stronger.

Today, FAST proudly manages over 20 active research grants, spanning every pillar of our Roadmap to a Cure.  These projects represent diverse, novel approaches – each bringing us closer to breakthroughs that could transform lives.

To support the growing research portfolio, FAST is expanding its infrastructure to accelerate progress even further. We are broadening our Scientific Advisory Board, bringing in leading experts across neurology, genetics, medicinal chemistry, rare disease drug development, and beyond. We have also built a more efficient, scalable grants management system to streamline the review and funding process, ensuring that the best science moves forward as quickly as possible.

This progress is only possible because of your support.

Every discovery, every breakthrough, every step forward starts with the support of our incredible community. Your donations fund the research that is bringing us closer to transformative treatments—and ultimately, a cure for Angelman syndrome.

Donate today and help drive the next breakthrough forward.
