About the Program

Oligodendrocytes, a type of brain cell that works closely with neurons, have been shown to have an important impact on the overall function of neurons in AS mouse models. By targeting oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPC) with various compounds, improved estrogen receptor signaling has been shown to subsequently improve some of the symptoms of AS in the animal models.
