Global Reach, Shared Urgency

Angelman syndrome affects families around the world. For a rare disease, progress depends on connection across borders.

FAST’s global impact is visible in the families, affiliates, researchers, clinicians, fundraisers, and partners working together to move the Angelman syndrome landscape forward.

FAST global affiliates help extend education, awareness, advocacy, fundraising, and community connection in countries around the world. Their work helps families access trusted information locally while staying connected to a broader global movement for Angelman syndrome progress.

Global Data That Helps Move Research Forward

The Global Angelman Syndrome Registry (GASR), launched by FAST Australia in 2016, has grown into an international resource with data from more than 2,000 families across nearly 100 countries.

For a rare disease, that kind of global participation matters. No single country’s data can answer every question researchers need to ask. Shared data helps researchers better understand Angelman syndrome, identify families for future research opportunities, and strengthen the foundation for clinical readiness.

Local Action, Global Momentum

FAST’s global community turns local urgency into worldwide progress. Families and supporters organize events, raise funds, build awareness, and advocate in their own countries, while contributing to a larger effort to keep Angelman syndrome research moving.

Shared Readiness for What Comes Next

As the therapeutic landscape advances, global education and collaboration become even more important. FAST helps families and partners prepare for a future shaped by more research, more data, more clinical development, and more informed advocacy.
